Present experiments

.

This video came together while writing the reflection for Dramaturgy through the lens of Poetics.

The main investigation concerns modes of wasting time:

walking without going anywhere

playing a word-game with my body

The instruction for walking slowly is to pay attention to detail, to every single movement of the body.

When I see the cars driving by, I think of their destination

Where are they going?

I think of their future

I walk in my living room

I have no destination

I pay attention to

what I am doing now

This walking

seems like

waiting

I move yet

I wait because I listen and

observe and pay attention

Word-game rules

  • I touch a part of my body and say a word
  • I touch another part of my body and say another word associated with the previous one
  • I don’t say a word twice

After a while

I do not know

if the word activates the movement

or

if the position of the hand leads to a word-association

or

if the word leads to another word

What is important to me is to pay attention to the words and the body

to the memories

associations

images

sensations

that might take form in present time or resist form.
