Assignment

Each student will be asked to contribute to a blog with an artistic outcome or documentation of it happening, speculating about how would the absence of human presence or of professional performers affect his/ her individual artistic practice, in light of one’s own experience during the module and, preferably, engaging with a text/ work indicated in the handbook or in class.

The outcome published in the blog should take the form of either:

  • a score of instructions to be enacted by a spectator or non-actor;
  • or a set of images (videos/photos/drawings) which may be set to perform autonomously (provide indications);
  • or documentation of an artistic gesture/ act/ installation performed earlier without professionally trained actors or human presence.

General Guidelines on Outcome

The outcome should articulate:

- a speculation on how would the absence of human presence or of professional performers could affect the artistic practice of the student;

– engagement with a text referenced in the module’s handbook or in class, positioning oneself critically regarding viewpoints, case studies, concepts, quotes;

–  reflection of what was gathered from one’s own experience during the module, as attendant of the lectures, as collaborator in the development of the group’s project, and as a peer debating with colleagues.
