walking on Syntagma Square: documentation

.

.

My dear human,

Welcome to the documentation of a performance experiment I call walking on Syntagma Square *.

*syntagma in Greek means constitution

.

How do I walk in public? What/how is my pace?

I assume that the individual walking pace of a human in public is a manifestation of certain perception and experience of time. It is configured by parameters such as occasion for walking, individual/inner perception of time (temporality), place, city landscape, other bodies, objects and entities, schedules, public temporality.

What happens if I choose to walk without destination on Syntagma Square (Athens, Greece) with a certain pace for two hours? What becomes visible about the relation of inner and public temporality and about the human experience of time if I perform a still-act (walking slowly) in public?

Let’s walk together. What/how is your pace?

.

In order to explore these questions I walked twice on Syntagma Square. I asked people who happened to be there and invited audience to fill out questionnaires and to walk with me. Some of the collected material is presented below. The spoken text is comprised by the answers on the questionnaires.
