walking on Syntagma Square: sharing time in public space
.
My dear human,
Welcome!
I am very happy that you are taking a moment to linger around here.
I would like to share with you some material I gathered from the live performative experiment “walking on Syntagma* Square”.
*σύνταγμα (syntagma) is the Greek word for constitution
Words
temporality > a perception of time, a quality of time
inner > internal, inherent, situated farther back
time … I don’t know
How do I walk in public? What/how is my pace?
I assume that the individual walking pace of a human in public is a manifestation of certain perception and experience of time. It is configured by parameters such as occasion for walking, individual/inner temporality, place, city landscape, other bodies and objects, schedules, public temporality.
What happens if I choose to walk slowly without destination on Syntagma Square (Athens, Greece) for two hours? What becomes visible about the relation of inner and public temporality and about the human experience of time? What/whom do I encounter during this walk?
Let’s walk. What/how is your pace?
